A young man identified as Hungwa Igbavenda, A.K.A Agwei, has taken his life today, Easter Sunday.

The incident reportedly took place at Ameladu Ipav In Gboko LGA.Mr. Hungwa,  took his life through hanging and the reason for his decision is still unknown.

Windfall: Jubilations As Alex Ikwechegh Celebrates Easter With Motherless Babies in Aba (Photos)

Popular Nigerian philanthropist and Former Chairman of Aba North Local Government Council, Alex Ikwechegh has visited SDA Motherless Baby Home in Aba, Abia State.

Hyperstv reports that Ikwechegh donated huge amount of money, bags of rice, cartoons of Tummy Tummy Noddles, toilet tissues, soaps, and assorted goodies.

During the visit, Ikwechegh who was represented by the Chairman of his foundation said the visit is pertinent in order to imitate the love Jesus showed by dying for all of us in the cross.

He said during a festive season like this, the motherless babies should not be neglected. He charged Christians to show love to the needy.

Speaking during the visit, the management pleaded with Ikwechegh to buy generator sect for them in order to alleviate the suffering.

Enugu State Governor and Governor-elect, Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has urged Christians and indeed all Nigerians, to take advantage of Christ’s resurrection, which Easter symbolizes, to sustain their abiding faith in God and promote peace, love, unity and virtues that enhance the progress of the country.

In his Easter message, Gov. Ugwuanyi noted that the observation of 40 days of Lent through fasting, abstinence, praying and charity in memory of Christ’s suffering, death and resurrection, “reinvigorates the spiritual strength of Christians and God’s amazing grace for salvation of mankind”.

The governor added that “God’s extraordinary act of love for mankind should be cherished, celebrated and sustained”.

While wishing the good people of Enugu State and indeed all Nigerians a happy Easter celebration.

A South African church collapsed at the star of an Easter Service, killing at least 13 people and leaving many others injured.The 29 people who were victims of the South African church which collapsed in the coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal, were rushed to the hospital after the incident. It was learnt that local officials blamed the tragedy on heavy rainfall in the area, around eMpangeni on Thursday night.Most of the victims were reportedly women sleeping in the church.

An 11-year-old girl is thought to be among them. The wall at the front of the Pentecostal Holiness Church collapsed at the start of what had been planned as a weekend-long service to commemorate the Christian festival of Easter. On Friday, a special prayer service was held in a large tent in front of the church, reports the eNCA TV station.

Panic as Police fire tear gas at Inec Ad-hoc Staff Protesting Non Payment Of Allowance In Enugu State of Nigeria.
The protesters comprising corps members, students and workers besieged the INEC headquarters in the state and blocked entrance and exit to the building.
Mr Tony Ani, a 42 year old man, who served as an Assistant Presiding Officer (APO 3) lamented the nonpayment of allowances for both the Presidential and Governorship elections including the inhumane treatment meted out to them.

Corps member, Miss Chioma Emmanuel, who worked at Igbo-etiti, said she had not been paid any of the allowances including training allowance since the elections ended in the state.
