Malam Sani Ahmed, a member of All Progressives Congress (APC) Solidarity Group, today, trekked into Minna, Niger State capital in solidarity with President Muhammadu Buhari.

Malam Sani arrived the Minna City gate at about 10:am after a sleepover at Pogo Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) depot.

Sani, who is also a member of the APC Presidential Support Committee, set out from Abuja on foot on Wednesday through Niger enroute Kebbi, Zamfara and Sokoto States.

He had slept over in Lambata Pogo in the course of the journey before entering Minna today, where he presented his group’s messages to aides of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello and the three Senators-elect on the platform of APC.

Speaking with journalists in Minna, the Graphic Designer of many years, said he specifically opted to deliver the congratulatory messages to the respective Governors because of their legacies of development in their
respective States.


Auchi (Edo) – The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Sunday declared the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Ahmed Waziri as the winner of Etsako Central Constituency of Edo State House of Assembly election .

INEC returning officer, Prof. Daniel Olarenwaju, who announced the result in Fugar, said Waziri polled 12,688 votes to defeat Mr Boi Donald of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 5,431 votes.
Olarenwaju said that of the 49,297 registered voters, 19,293 cast their votes while 212 votes were voided.

“I hereby declare Waziri of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, as the winner and he is returned elected, ” Olanrewaju said.


Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has won his polling unit as PDP polled 161 and 207 votes to defeat APC that got 99 and 76 in Governorship and State House of Assembly elections respectively.

It would be recalled that APC defeated PDP at the same polling unit during presidential and National Assembly elections on February 23.


The results of Ajiya Ward 012 Polling Unit, Yola North Local Government Area, Jimeta, where the PDP presidential candidate voted yesterday, were listed thus:

Another set of suspected thugs has been apprehended by vigilant youths in Akwa Ibom, just hours to the governorship and House of Assembly elections today.

A bus carrying about 20 political thugs all the way from Edo state - was intercepted in Ikot Esen-Atiamkpat road, Nsit Ubium LGA, Akwa Ibom state.

The leader of the group was beaten mercilessly by the mob as he claimed they were brought from Edo to Akwa Ibom to monitor the elections and also provide "security" at polling units.

He also said they will receive their full payment after the elections are concluded.


Breaking: Three persons shoot dead in Rivers

PORT HARCOURT: At least three persons have been feared killed in Rivers State today.

Abednego from ward 8 in Ahoada West local Government area of the state, was shot dead by a uniform man alleged to be a Mobile Police Officer attached to a high profile politician in the state.

It was also reported that the incident happened at bout 02:55am at the office of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Akinnima community in Ahoada West.
