Is SEO important?
In the contemporary capitalist world where you can only arrive by competing with people with niche like yours, SEO is very very important!

Search engines serve millions of users per day looking for answers to their questions or for solutions to their problems. If you have a website that proffer solutions to their problems and you don't have reputable ranking (or you didn't setup your SEO)  by search engines then your solution will not come up even if the same keyword you use for your website or content is searched on engines which is most often unique.

Search engine optimization is essential to a website because of the following
  • The majority of users making use of search engines are more likely to click on one of the top 5 suggestions in the search engine results pages (SERPS), so to take advantage of this and be part of top 5 results on search engines, the website owner need to optimize the website (like making the website fast by optimizing the speed, making navigations easier by users and search engine bots, making website responsive on almost all screens writing quality contents, etc.). The major reason for this is to gain visitors to your website.
  • SEO is not only about getting to be part of top 5 SERPs but good SEO practices improve the user experience and usability of a website.
  • Users tend to trust search engines and having a presence in the top positions for the keywords the user is searching for,  increases the website’s trust.
  • SEO is good for the social recognition of your website and you as an author, editor or administrator of the website (if need be). People who find your website and it's unique content on Google, Yahoo and othe top search engines are more likely to promote it on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other social media channels. Which will earn you more visitors to your website and also promotion.
  • Search Engines Optimization is important for the smooth running of a big website. Websites with more than one author can benefit from Search Engine Optimization in a direct and indirect way. Their direct benefit is increase in search engine traffic to their website and their indirect benefit is having a common framework (checklists) to use before publishing content on the site.
  • SEO can put you ahead of the competition in the competitive contemporary world. If two web sites are selling the same thing, the search engine optimized website is more likely to have more customers and make more sales.
